Steve Odland
Chairman & Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Odland has been Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and a Director since early 2005. Prior to joining Office Depot, Inc., he was Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of AutoZone, Inc., from 2001 until 2005. Previously he was an executive with Ahold USA from 1998 to 2000, President of the Foodservice Division of Sara Lee Bakery from 1997 to 1998 and was employed by The Quaker Oats Company from 1981 to 1996 in various executive positions. Mr. Odland is also a director of General Mills, Inc.
Charles E. Brown
President, International
Charles Brown joined Office Depot in May 1998 as Senior Vice President, Finance and Controller. In October 2001, he was promoted to the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, and once again in 2005, he was promoted to President, International for the Company. In his newly expanded role, Charles will have overall responsibility for all operations outside of North America. This includes existing company-owned operations in Europe and Japan and joint venture or license agreements in seven other countries. Prior to joining Office Depot, Charles spent two years at Denny's, Inc., where he was their Senior VP, Chief Financial Officer. Earlier in his career, he had spent 20 years at Aramark Corporation, PepsiCo and KPMG, where he held various senior level financial positions. He holds a degree in Management Science from Duke University and is a CPA.
Dirk Collin
Executive Vice President and Managing Director Europe and the Middle East
Dirk Collin, a Belgian national, will be based in the Office Depot European Headquarters in Venlo (NL), and report to Charles Brown. In this position, Collin will be responsible for driving profitable growth and expansion in all European operations. Most recently, Collin served as General Manager, Northern Europe and Vice President Sales Operations (Europe, Asia, Middle East) for StorageTek Corp, headquartered in Denver, Colorado. He also contributed to the success of Xerox Corporation in Europe, having spent over 25 years in various senior management roles. Reporting to Collin in the European organization will be the leaders of Merchandizing/Marketing, Direct, and Contract, as well as the Country Managers.
